Dear God, creator of women in your own image, born of a woman in the midst of a world half women, carried by women to mission fields around the globe, made known by women to all the children of the earth, give to the women of our time the strength to persevere, the courage to speak out, the faith to believe in you beyond all systems and institutions so that your face on earth may be seen in all its beauty, so that men and women become whole, so that the church may be converted to your will in everything and in all ways.

Claiming my personal power |
Claiming My Personal Power I offer to you all that I am not,WClarmingMyPersonalPower to create with it all that I am. Send Your forces around me, through me. Permeate me. Gently, yet boldly. Undeniably. With honor, I forgo all past violations of myself. Through darkness I've crawled just to meet you here. All the sacrifice lies behind me. Only Your love stands before me. And now, may my power finally lie within me. |

Lord, Thou knowest better than I myself that I am growing older and will someday be old. Keep me from the fatal habit of thinking I must say something on every subject and on every occasion.
Release me from craving to straighten out everybody’s affairs.
Make me thoughtful but not moody; helpful but not bossy.

Creator God, you who reveal yourself in the moment to moment events of each of our lives,
help us to learn to accept life as you give it.
Teach us in our secret places – where we tend to hide, all too often with disappointment and doubt – that nothing is insignificant.
Our joys, successes and pleasures have meaning just as pain and failure bring us understanding.
Give to us your spirit to open our minds, ears, eyes and heart to see your loving hand in all the days of our lives.
We ask this in the name of Jesus our way and Lord. Amen. |
Dry twigs birthing new life: gentle eruption of possibility; mighty gratitude for the glance that caught another movement of grace hidden in the cycle of seasons. I pray for mindfulness; for awareness of the lens through which I see each person, each day, each experience. Bless this gift of sight, creator of rainbows and covenants; enable me to notice hope in the dry twig areas of life; build in me a capacity for seeing birthing possibilities; colour my life with awareness of your life-giving companionship, for the graced unfolding of the seasons of my life.
Reflection:
God saw all he had made, and indeed it was very good. Gen1:31. From the beginning till now the entire creation, as we know, has been groaning in one great act of giving birth. Romans 8:22

As we watch images of famine, let our hearts be touched moved by the faces, the people, creations of God
As we watch images of starvation, grant us some discomfort to move us to action,to generosity,to concern, and to help
As we eat May our grace, our prayer of thanksgiving be more fervent, more heartfelt than ever in the knowledge of those who have no food to eat.
And let us not close our eyes because of guilt but open them to the possibility that I, that we, that my community can make a difference

In our hunger you are there In our thirst you are there In famine and feast you are there when we are broken or simply sewn together by a thin thread When our wings are flying in a swift breeze or when they are torn and broken You are mending us you are there You are above us Under us Beside us Over us Beyond us Help us to see you with hope in our hearts and a prayer on our lips To know your presence in all things all things that you have made |

Winter prayer and meditation |
During lengthening days of light May our actions be lighthearted Upon right and noble impulses. During quiet hours beyond dusk, before dawn May we take time to think over events from the day Plan for good in the morrow. In light of day May we extend our personal borders Caring and sharing expansively. So the world glows bright from our presence May we blaze as beacons of harmony Lighting the path ahead. To nurture efforts toward lasting peace May we with act with kindness toward all Embracing our family and friends wholeheartedly Ever gracing our world-wide family lightheartedly.
